Prayer Chain
Gethsemane Lutheran Church Women is made up of every woman in the church, from the teen confirmand to the oldest woman member in a care facility. We serve God in our homes and communities by sponsoring a Navajo child in a Lutheran school, donate to God's pantry, make and send quilts to Lutheran World Relief, send caring baskets to our shut-ins, deliver dress clothes to Hope Center, as well as other serving and helping in other ways as they become known to us. In addition, we meet monthly for Bible study and prayer.
The prayer chain is a group of volunteers who have promised to pray for others when requested. In addition, they pray regularly for homebound members and for all congregational meetings and is willing to pray for individual and group concerns.
This group meets twice a month to knit prayer shawls, chemo caps, and any item which may be needed by those within the congregation and within the community of Lexington. Experience with knitting is not necessary as members of the group are willing to teach anyone who is interested in learning to knit.
This group combines exercising for physical health with Bible reading for spiritual health. In order to do this group meets weekly for exercising and monthly for discussing the Bible.
This class meets every Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. and focuses on conversational Spanish.
